The Friends of Poetry State Forest Fund

Poetry State Forest Writers and Artists Residency Fundraiser:

Goal $100,000 to restore the main house and rebuild The Bungalow studio located on the edge of a hayfield along two creeks in southern Rensselaer county, New York. 

Work to be completed for first residencies to take place spring 2025.

The house, and the surrounding woods known as the Poetry State Forest, has served as the site of many poetry workshops, readings, and gatherings and provided a library and home for various visiting writers and artists for over twenty years; these repairs would ensure that the house would continue to be a comfortable home as well as a place to honor the legacy of the much beloved poet Bernadette Mayer. 

Payment checks should be made out to "Poetry State Forest.”
